Lots of behind the scenes stuff is going on today!
First up, the site has been updated so that the dynamic PHP-based pages are served up as static html files to most users. This should result in noticeably faster load times for users, and less strain on our server.
In other news, we’ve added a CAPTCHA to the new user registration page to help block spam user accounts from being created by bots.
We’ve also limited the times a user can incorrectly enter their password when logging in to 10. If they exceed this number their account will be locked, and they can request to be emailed a temporary replacement password. This should prevent brute force attempts to gain access to a user’s account, and result in more secure accounts for our users.
