Weekly Updates

This Friday marks the High School graduation of several of Atomic Entertainment Industries’ members, and the week leading up to today has been primarily used in preparation for graduation. As a result, there hasn’t been a much of progress on AEI projects.

Reading of Names

So, we’ve decided to use this update to recognize the graduating members.
Five of our most active members will graduate tonight: Jon Alleman, Joel Marzzarella, Darren Olah, Alyssa Ream, and Cory Tate.
There are also plenty of other seniors who have worked on AEI projects who will graduate tonight, such as Ibrahim Abdurrahman, Zach Davis, Brandi Fitch, Angel Gallaher, Kathryn McCracken, Samson Muthami, Emily Ott, Steven Reese, Brandon Shuman, Sinea Slattery.

Abroad

Joel Marzzarella will be leaving the country in a few days, so filming of Lazarus will be postponed. Regardless, editing will continue, and we’ll release part one as soon as we have a high quality final product to show.

Editing Continues

Filming on part 1 of Lazarus: Forth From Ashes is essentially completed. Sound effects have been placed for the whole film, and we’re working on some of the special effects, and color correction.
We still need some graphics created for the ship’s view screen, which is one of the primary reasons we’re not yet ready to release the film.
As soon as it’s complete, this site will be one of the first places to see it, so check back often.

Hello once again, everyone! We’ve got a few interesting things to talk about today, first off, some new developments with the Atomic Fusion card game.

Atomic Fusion’s First Prototypes

Yesterday we printed off the first finalized Atomic Fusion card. (Card #15, Scorcher) Here it is, scanned side by side with cards from some published card games.
An atomic fusion card side by side with a Pokemon card and Yu-Gi-Oh card.
We actually intend to make some additional alterations before publishing the game, such as bolding some of the more important text. The commercial printers and paper that The Game Crafter uses is of a higher quality than ours, but overall this is a pretty good idea of what AF cards will look like.

Lazarus Ongoing

Today we’re actually working on our third filming day for Lazarus: Forth from Ashes, our ongoing film project. We hope to complete filming for the first ‘episode,’ very soon. Once we do, editing will begin in earnest, and we’ll have something to show you all for our work. Other than that, there’s not much we want to say without posing spoilers.

[Insert Clever Goodbye Remark Here]

As always, we’ll keep you up to date on any new developments. Check back next week for more!

Lazarus Rising

On Tuesday we held our first filming day for Lazarus: Forth from Ashes. The footage is looking quite good because we weren’t rushing, and we were able to get plenty of angles. Also our external microphone gives us crystal clear voices. Roughly cut together the footage makes up about 1:30. We have filming dates set for Monday and Friday of next week, and are trying to get as many in as possible. We don’t really have the luxury of time because Joel Marzzarella who plays Jonah Carter in the film will be leaving the country in early June. For those interested in Lazarus, thus means we’ll likely have to have the film completed by mid or late June. We’ll keep you up to date on further developments. That’s all for now!

We have some exciting news on this Friday the 13th!

Lazarus Commences

We have finally scheduled a filming date for Lazarus! This upcoming Tuesday we’ll roll first footage on the film. If we make enough progress, part one of the film may be released very soon. We’ve decided that Lazarus will be released in multiple parts, as we complete each part. This is partly because we expect the film to be too long to release in one part, and partly so we can get it out to viewers as quickly as possible. We’ll keep you up to date as more progress in made.

Atomic Fusion’s Genesis

Just last Friday we scanned all the current handwritten Atomic Fusion cards into a digital format. They can now be seen on our Flickr page in their set here. We have been working towards making fully computer generated versions that will look much more professional, and we hope to publish them via The Game Crafter when these digital versions are completed. As with everything, we’ll keep you up to date via weekly updates.

Looking Ahead

Next week we’ll talk about how Lazarus filming went, and any other news. ‘Til then, Adios!

Another week has passed with little to mention, but we’re still here, and have some big plans for the next month.

Waking Giant

On Saturday, two AEI films will be shown at the waking Giant Film Festival in Chambersburg, PA: The Exchange, and The Rainhurst Project. This is exciting news, because this will be the first time AEI films have been shown at a film festival. Darren Olah and Joel Marzarella will be attending the festival to represent AEI.

Arisen

We’re shooting for a May filming date for Lazarus’ first part. If all goes well, we’ll be able to release this first section late May.

More photos from the production of Lazarus will be up on Flickr early next month. Probably May 1st or 2nd. Check back soon to see them!

Till next week.

So, this week’s update was a bit shorter than our previous updates, but there really hasn’t been too much to mention. We’ll have a lot to talk about when Lazarus filming starts. Adios for this week!

Hello! Not much has happened since last week, but there is some that can be mentioned.

Picturesque

As you may have noticed, we’ve started to release more art, in addition to our usual videos and music. If you have art you’d like to share via this site, contact Darren Olah.
It’s not a problem if you have your art hosted somewhere else, in fact that’s easier on us. We’re happy to link to your work on DeviantArt, Flickr or any other site. As an added bonus, if you already have your art somewhere else, we can pick our favorites and post them, without you having to do anything but give us the permission to display them.

Forth from Ashes

Lazarus now is known as “Lazarus: Forth from Ashes.” This subtitle will make it much easier to find in web searches. The term Lazarus by itself brings up almost solely information about the biblical figure Lazarus, and although our film is named after him, we want to make sure the two won’t get mixed up.
In other Lazarus news, photos of Lazarus production (and other future projects) will now be posted on our Flickr account. It allows for higher quality and is much easier to share than our Facebook photo albums.
Lazarus filming will happen in May with any luck. Later than we hoped, but still, it is better late than never. We still aren’t sure of a date that works for all of our actors.

Adios!

Hope you enjoy your Easter weekend! See you back here next Friday!

It’s Friday!

And today we so excited because we’re introducing something new!

Shiny new weekly updates!

Each Friday from now on we’ll be posting an update on what’s new with Atomic Entertainment Industries, such progress that we’ve made on a project or anything else worthy of mention. This will be a great place to read news that isn’t big enough to warrant a standalone post.

We’ll continue with standalone posts just as often as before, whenever they’re needed. The only difference is that with the weekly update you know there will be something to come back to and read at least every Friday!

Please visit often and tell others about our site. Also, if you’re not a fan of our Facebook page, check it out here, or click the button in the sidebar. We count on your support to help spread the word about AEI. Thanks!

Impending filming for Lazarus.

The Lazarus set has reached a point where it can be considered completed. There are a few optional additions that we could still add, such as posters and other artwork on the walls, but we are ready to go whenever we can get the cast together.

The state of AdSense.

So far we’ve received a small amount of revenue from our AdSense ads around the site. It’s not yet quite enough to cover the hosting costs but it is close. Again, we encourage you to click on ads on our site if you’re legitimately interested in it, rather than waiting and clicking it later on some other site.

Until we next meet!

That’s all for now, but be sure to check back regularly. You never know when we’ll release more content. We hope you’ll be back soon!

Adios!
